Dog Breed Training Guides

Every breed was developed for a job. Retrievers carried game back to hunters, herding dogs moved sheep and cattle, and terriers dug out vermin. Those jobs still shape how dogs behave in Canadian homes today, from the Labrador who carries shoes around the house to the Border Collie who circles the kids in the backyard.

Our breed training guides explain what each breed was bred to do, the behaviour problems we see most often in that breed, and how to work with those instincts instead of against them. We add a new breed every month, starting with the breeds Canadians own most.

Breed tells you what a dog is likely to do, but every dog is an individual. Read more in Does Breed Matter?

We Work With All Breeds

We train in your home, where your dog’s behaviour actually happens, and we teach the whole family to understand your particular dog’s ways of communicating and understanding the world. Whether you have a working-line German Shepherd who is “protecting” you in undesired ways, or a Dachshund who barks at the window, we understand your dog, and how to help you!

Every program comes with our Life Of Dog Support Guarantee, so your trainer stays with you for the life of your dog.
