We asked Kelly what drives her, what she loves about working with dogs, and the one thing she wishes every dog owner knew.
What Brought You to Dog Training?
“I came to Bark Busters as a client because my German Shepherd Charlie was very afraid of everything outside and I had no control. I became a trainer to help her. It was just a bonus that I got to help other people and dogs.
When I discovered the Bark Busters system, I saw the transformation in Charlie firsthand — and I knew I wanted to bring that same experience to other families.”
What Are Your Favourite Breeds?
“My favourite breeds are German Shepherds, Labradors, Border Collies, Huskies, and Golden Retrievers — I like big goofy dogs who like to have fun and are active.”

What Is a Favourite Moment You’ve Had as a Trainer?
“One of my favourite dog training moments was watching a dog that was completely shut down trust their human for the first time.
Other favourite moments are watching dogs who were scared face their fear — whether it was fear of outside and being able to go for a walk, or being able to walk past a dog that they would previously bark at.”
What Do You Wish You Could Tell Every Dog Owner?
“I wish I could tell every owner not to give up on the tough dogs. It is frustrating, tiring, and even scary sometimes when you have a dog with behavioural issues.
And while it takes time, patience, and consistency — and the results don’t always come as quickly as we would like — sticking it out with these dogs leads to having the best bond ever with that dog.”
