I grew up in southern Mexico on our family's working ranch, surrounded by horses, cattle, and lots of dogs! There is something about having a life connected to the land that gives you a more open understanding of animals. My first career took me away from that and for many years I worked in Mexico City as the Human Resources manager for a financial institution. Eventually, my love for dogs and desire to help families drew me to dog training in Calgary with Bark Busters Dog and to this incredible direction in my professional life.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is to be able to help humans communicate with their dogs. It’s a mind-blowing experience when I see them reconnect and start to understand each other. It can really bring a family together too as they have a common goal: to create a happy life with a happy dog!
Why I became a trainer
When I was a child, I was attacked by my family’s dog. I ended up in the ICU at the hospital, and I remember how my family felt scared and guilty about what happened. With time I learned that that accident could have been avoided by just being proactive and learning how to read the dog's everyday behaviour. It’s so important to be able to see the world from a dog’s perspective, be in tune with their ways of communication and find a better path to solve any problem.
