Thank you for giving us our dog back!
Rocky's aggression was getting out of control. Our visitors didn't know how to act around him, so we'd go out instead of having them come over. It was just easier that way. He'd already bitten all of our close friends and family. If he were a bigger dog there would have been more serious consequences to be sure. His horribly sad and abusive past (he was rescued) had taken its toll on the little guy and although we were prepared to be consistent and firm with him, we were doing things that, unbeknownst to us, were sending him mixed messages.
We don't know when he first took over our pack, but we know when we took it back: when Monica showed us how. The techniques are surprisingly simple and, most importantly, extremely effective. I asked Monica before we started training what would happen if Rocky just could not be trained. She suggested we cross that bridge when we came to it. I didn't have the confidence he'd be able to improve. I was wrong. Very wrong.
He is a new pooch now. He is calmer, he knows where he stands, and he listens to us. Bit by bit (no longer bite by bite!!) he continues to improve as long as we use the Bark Busters strategy. We've recommended Monica and Bark Busters to everyone we know.
Our vet had only met Rocky once prior to our experience with Bark Busters. When he saw him one week after the training, he couldn't believe the change in our dog. He said that if Bark Busters could do this for Rocky, he'd recommend them to anyone. It was the first time in a long time that I'd been proud of my dog. Rocky no longer needs the special food and medicines he was on for "allergies" - we believe the cause of his symptoms was actually stress from being a 6.5 lb dog in charge of a whole human pack.
Not saying this will be true for everyone, but we also know that we will be able to use the method on any other dogs we own in the future.
This was a gift we gave ourselves. Trust me, your dog is worth it. Your sanity is worth it. We have a much better relationship with Rocky now and can truly enjoy all the good that he brings to our lives, now that we're not fixating on his bad behaviour.

It took 3 hours with Monica and I know she'll be there for us (a trainer on retainer, if you will!) if we need her help in the future. I highly recommend both Bark Busters and, of course, Monica Simpson. Trust me, you won't regret it!
