What
I liked most about Diane and Richard who helped my husband and me with
Thor is their sincere dedication. They have been there to answer any
questions we have had since their visit. They really care about what
they do. Knowing that I have their support and commitment any time means
a lot.
- Carol & Luc G. - June 2010
Our
family has learned a lot about dogs. Understanding their language and
behaviour sure makes it much easier to communicate with them. Richard's
expertise in dog training is amazing. He shows a different outlook on
training. I am very pleased with the service. It's an ongoing training
as the dogs grow up. Thanks a million Richard... - Kim B. - June

When
we contacted Bark Busters we didn't know what to expect, but the minute
Richard walked in right away you could see that Marley wasn't sure what
was going to happen. It was the first time she didn't try to be the
dominant one in the room, it was amazing. since then we have kept up
with the advice and training tips we got from Richard and she has become
the companion we always hoped for.
Thank you Richard for your expert advice
Sylvain La France - Gatineau, Quebec - June 2010
Thank
you for all your help Richard. Sheeba and I are well on our way. I am
more at ease now with my dog's behaviour and understanding her communication.
I appreciate the email followups as well. Quick tips to remind me of
my areas of focus- Much appreciated! - Amelie C. - May 2010
Things
are going extremely well! We are making alot of progress. There are
still a few issues that need to be rectified as Gizmo is fighting me
all the way but I'm maintaining my stance. Thanks so much for everything.

Arrived
on time; training techniques used by Bark Busters are excellent, amazing
results by the end of the training; Addressed my concerns with Sadie;
Ongoing follow from Dainne and Richard. - PS. I am sending a Testimonial
to Dianne today
--------------------------------- testimonial ---------------------------------------------------------------
Good morning Richard and Dainne,
Thank you again for making this possible for Sadie and me to have a
better relationship.
Bark Busters is the best thing that happened to me in a long time. I
am on my way to become a better Leader thanks to Richard and Dainne.
I just want to say thank you! It was amazing to see results so quickly.
Last year I adopted my Little Sadie, a confident and assertive 3 year
old Weimaraner. It did not take her long to take over our house. I Have
been a dog owner all my life, I did not think you could teach an old
dog new tricks but Richard taught ‘me,’ the old dog, new
tricks.
The behaviour issues have been resolved in no time.
I am now the leader of my house, the back yard, I’m not telling
you that my Little Sadie will not test me but now I know exactly what
to do and not do in those situations. The best part is I now enjoy going
for long walks with Sadie and cherish every moment.
It is never too late for our animals; with the right techniques ‘
Bark Busters’ makes it all is possible.
Richard and Dianne to this day, still follow up with me on an on going
basis and provide me with tips, news bulletins that keep me on my toes.
Life is too short, we need to live the moment and I learned all of
that with Bark Busters… Thank you again for being there for Sadie
and me.
Your ‘Friends for Life’ !!!! - Sadie and Suzanne B.

As
a first time dog owner, I needed all the help I could get! Richard helped
me understand Whiskey and how my attitude, tone of voice and posture
affect his behaviour. Everyone is noticing the "before and after"
difference with Whiskey. He is still the same dog, just with better
manners - so we have a more peaceful household! - Louise B. - April

Our
trainer is a very calm compassionate person... I'm confident my Jack
Russell will be a well behaved dog. - Ken & Kathy W. - March

Well......
I am certainly impressed! I used the BAH! 3 times today and he stopped
whatever he was doing and came over to me...... even sat patiently while
I figured out which way was UP on his new collar!...Terry D. - March

Remarkable
technique with immediate results. - Ingrid E. - February 2010
I
can't thank Richard and Diane enough for their assistance and support.
After trying various different approaches, I had just about given up
on finding a solution for the problem we were having with Tucker. Diane
was immediately able to diagnose the situation, and within minutes of
talking to her I felt much better about something that had been bothering
me for months. I no longer felt alone with my problem, instead I felt
instant relief along with a strong confidence that they would be able
to help.
Both my dogs responded immediately to Richard and the exercises that
we went through. It feels wonderful to be able to interact with my pets
in a way that they can understand. Although I have had dogs for most
of my life, I had no idea that I was treating them as I would another
person, and that many human behaviours would communicate something completely
different in the dog world. By implementing the things that I learned
in our session, Tucker's behaviour has improved dramatically and he
seems much more content and secure. The initial problem has all but
gone away, and we have been left with an environment that has improved
in ways that we hadn't even expected.
It is obvious that Diane and Richard care very much for both the owners
they deal with as well as their dogs. It comes through in their willingness
to be available anytime it is needed and by their follow-up calls to
make sure everything is progressing well.
Tucker, Casey and I would like to extend our thanks to Bark Busters,
and especially Diane and Richard for their help in making our lives
that much better.
- Ingrid E. - February 2010
Therapist
seemed to be well imformed, and communicated his information clearly,
and was willing to listen. - James B. - February 2010
We
really enjoyed having Richard talk with us and give us wonderful instructions
and directions with our dogs. We are working on the points and we do
see improvements. Richard was fun and easy going with the whole family.
It was like having a friend over. We could see that Richard is pationate
about dogs and would do anything to help a family get their dog's behaviour
better. Thank's a million - Manon F. - December 2009
Dear
Richard,
Just wanted to THANK YOU for coming to our house yesterday and helping
us with our little angel (now) Fred. The results are outstanding…
really.
Fred is like a new dog. After you left, we were prepared to tackle any
problem we have been experimenting with Fred since he joined us. To
our astonishment, little Fred was like a new dog, not even attempting
to go back to his old ways. No jumping on the sofa (he tried once last
night, that's it!), no attacking the cat (at some point, they actually
sat, facing each other for a long minute. The cat was ready to charge
- but looked almost disappointed when Fred just got up and walked away).
No jumping on us or Mathias. We even went out for dinner and expected
to come back to a howling dog. He was crying a little, of course - and
stopped when we "bahhh"ed. He didn't bust out of his cage
when we opened the door. He waited for us to say it was okay. He now
understands his place in the family (or pack). He's of course still
discovering do's and don'ts and seems a little baffled with us taking
charge, but he is so much calmer and respectful. The dog that used to
follow me everywhere now goes and does his own thing. That's really
amazing. I actually managed to get ready this morning without Fred jumping
up and down in the patio door and howling away disrupting neighbours.
When I checked out Bark Busters website a couple of weeks ago, I knew
we would have the wow effect with your methods, but not that much, and
so quickly. Even Christian, who can be the king of skeptics, hasn't
pronounced the word WOW, so many times in so little time! We now know
how to communicate with Fred and that's really special.
Again, thanks a million for your help!
We look forward to giving you an update in 2 weeks or so. Cheers!
- Annick, Christian, Mathias and Fred - November 2009
Good
morning Richard,
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for a wonderful morning
yesterday. What an incredible experience! And what a surprise after
you left and we were still having success with both Buddy and Chester.
Buddy seems to be relieved and Chester - well Chester continues to try
and test (challenges) our leadership. He'll eventually come around as
we are now the leaders and will not give up...
Again Richard, thank you for helping us create a relaxed and friendly
environment with our two pals. - Lisa and Mike R. - October 2009
We
thought that Richard was just fantastic. Within minutes of him arriving
in our home we saw marked improvement in our dog's behaviour. When we
had some setbacks after a couple of weeks, Richard was right there to
help us get back on track. He showed a lot of patience with us and gave
us very thorough explanations of the method and how Bark Busters works.
We are very satisfied and we would highly recommend Bark Busters.
- Bill and Kim M. - October 2009
We
were amazed as to how quickly Honey responded to the training. We are
happy and very proud of her... Thank you. - Leslie L. and Family

I
was very much satisfied with my training with Richard. I was very amaized
with the results, i have to continue with the training with Baily my
dog. I have already recommended Bark Busters to some of my co-workers
, they know Baily and they have noticed a big difference in her and
Zeus , my other dog. Richard was wonderful and he has hepled the other
members of my family as well. I am extremely satisfied. - Richard
De Lima - August 2009
Our
experience with Bark Busters was a lifetime experience of knowledge
of the correct and non-correct ways to train our dogs. We are definitely
impressed by the warranty they offer for the life of our dogs. It makes
us feel secure, if there be any need for another session per say. The
part we enjoy the most now is walking our dogs. A big thanks to our
therapists! - Nathalie L. - August 2009
Richard
and Dianne are great communicators and very generous with their time.
We most definitely believe in the system and believe we will achieve
success with our dog in working together with our trainers. We are impressed
with the level of commitment Dianne and Richard have shown us.
- Catherine D. - Aug 2009
We
have learned a great deal and this is just the begining for Hewston
and us together. We believe the begining years are the important years
for Hewston's development. We are not dogs, hence the reason for calling
upon the experts at Bark Busters. To get a better understanding of what
it is like to be a dog (making the training) more comprehensible. I
would also like to add the trainers at Bark Busters are extremely curtious
and considerate. I would recommend Bark Busters to anyone. It is comforting
to know I can count on you if problems should arise later.
- Laurie & Clive V. - August 2009
Since
Richard has been at the house, people who visit notice a change in Kimmi.
It is pretty amazing. ... I am very happy with the results. Kelly
G. - July 2009
Richard
and Dianne are a very supportive team with Dianne doing the preliminary
and follow-up contacts and Richard doing the actual training with us.
I would recommend Bark Busters to others. - Sharon M. - June 2009
Dear
Dianne and Richard - I would like to thank you very much for working
with us and our German Shepherd dog, Tiny. I appreciated Dianne's pre
and post training phone calls and information; that was very helpful
in terms of both preparation and follow-up. And of course, Richard's
time spent with our family was extremely valuable.
Although we live in a quiet neighbourhood and I tend to walk her early
in the morning and late in the evening, I realize now how tense I was
when I saw someone in the distance with a dog. With the exception of
a few of Tiny's dog friends, all other encounters were embarrassing
moments of barking and lunging behaviours. In addition, I had several
instances of pulled muscles in my back because of Tiny lunging at birds
and rabbits unexpectedly. This collar/lead has given back the control
of the walk to the human and we are pleased with being able to do peaceful
walks. The children (ages 13, 15 & 17) are happy that they are now
able to walk her as well.
The in-house training has also continued to be successful. We cannot
believe how much more effective the "bah"/growl is than anything
else we have tried. My niece from out west was here for a week and had
previously become accustomed to being barked at and stalked for her
entire visit. She was pleasantly surprised by the change. Tiny still
sometimes forgets herself, but the kids and I are able to regain control
and leadership which is so nice. We are very pleased with the results
thus far and can only anticipate that things will get even better.
The only negative report has nothing to do with you or your training
method. As I mentioned over the phone, my husband has decided not to
follow any of the instructions. For the most part, this does not affect
us as he is out of the house for much of the day. We did notice, though,
that one Saturday we were all out of the house for most of the day and
Ali and Tiny were alone at home. When we came home, the dog had visibly
regressed and we had to reestablish ourselves with her. I guess the
main thing I would like to encourage you to continue to inform your
clients is that although it is not absolutely imperative that each family
member do the program for it to work, the main caregiver needs to be
on board, and it really is best if everyone can do it. I wish Ali would
try, but at least he doesn't prevent the rest of us from doing it!...
With appreciation - Sharon Manouchehri - June 2009
Ralph
is doing just great. He comes promptly when called and knows he can't
go through a door, down stairs, etc. until the human is completely through/down.
He walks really well and is just a good dog. The housetraining issue
is almost completely resolved...overall, all is great. Thanks so much
for your help.
- Marjorie & Jose - June 2009
Richard
came to our house and did a 6 hr training session for our 2 dogs - Zoe
(2yr min schnauzer) and Neo (bernedoodle -2 mts). We had one big issue
with Zoe - barking at the door and jumping on people upon their arrival.
Richard showed us a simple but effective technique how to stop that
behavior and the results were immediate. Zoe is doing so much better
now, and only get little bit excited with familiar people that she likes
very much.
Neo had to be taught basics - potty training, walking behind on stairs,
staying in his crate, etc. Thanks again to some very effective methods
Richard demonstrated, he is fully house trained and he's such a joy
to be around. Him and Zoe are best of buds. We are still working on
staying in the crate without too much anxiety....
Walks are now a pure pleasure with both dogs.. - Bojanna and John
J.
I
just want to thank Richard and Dianne for all of their advice and help
with my dog Kimmi. I was having a lot of issues with Kimmi because of
the changes in our life and the move. I was really at the end of my
rope and didn't know what to do. I first spoke to Dianne on the phone
and she was very calming and knew what she was talking about... Kimmi
took to the training very well. The techniques were amazing and in only
one week there was a change. We still have some work to do, but things
such as going for a walk are very enjoyable now. You have changed our
relationship forever! Thanks again - Kelley and Kimmi G.
Hello
Dianne and Richard - I 'm sending this email in appreciation of Richard's
accomplishment's with my dogs.
As you know I have 4 miniature dachshunds. With two intact males, a
bitch and puppy, things had gotten dangerously out of hand. The males
had progressively built up an aggression toward each other that had
resulted in vicious fights that would have ended in very expensive vet
bills or in even death had my husband not been able to separate the
dogs. The dogs were aggressive towards visitors and the males were marking
everything which was making it impossible to house break the puppy.
In frustration I finally started to diaper the boys. One of the boys
was so stressed out he was even routinely soiling himself in his crate.
I was considering finding a new home for one of the males, but knew
no one would want a dog with so many problems. I'm sure if I had given
him away he would have ended up being put down. I couldn't bear that
thought, so soldiered on the best I could. After the last and most explosively
vicious dog fights, I knew I had to bring in a professional. It was
then I noticed your business card in my vet's office.
In a few hours, Richard was able to establish order. In what seemed
a miracle, all the dogs were in the same room together, off leash, free
roaming and relaxed. I could hardly believe my eyes. The rest of the
day was spent training myself and husband. (I'm still working on him.)
Richard also gave some very good tips to control the marking. Since
Richard's visit the boys no longer wear the diapers and the marking
has been reduced from 10 or more times a day to only a rare occurrence.
It has only been two weeks, so we still are a work in progress. I greatly
appreciate your on going support and encouragement. It is priceless.
I can honestly say we are a happy and relaxed pack. Thank you from of
bottom of my heart. - Margaret S.
Hello
Richard,
I really wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your time with us yesterday.
This wasn't just "dog information" it was really an enriching
experience for all of us.
You are a very special person and I appreciated very much you being
so open during the conversation and sharing your thoughts. It really
helped me have confidence in you, at least as much as seeing you demonstrate
this very special method...
Zac has been calm and the night went well. He woke up at 5:15 and I
decided to BAH him down and go back to sleep and it worked. So we got
up at 7 which is good for me.
I stuck a paper on the cupboard near the door to note his toilet activities
and mealtimes so as to find the right rythm... (none of my friends or
my children would beleive I'm doing this !!! I'm usually very well organized
but not with those ways !)...
To have a dog was my decision and I'm the one who will spend the most
time with him. I was afraid because I knew I didn't have the right personnality
to train a dog but I also felt at this time in my life that I needed
a pet to help learn what I haven't been able to learn with people. So
I took a chance. I only realized after talking to your wife and meeting
you how much Zac had already taken over a lot in my life and how stressed
I'd gotten over the past month. Yesterday night all the stress went
away and now I'm sure all this is going to work out just fine.
My friends who have dogs have been giving me lots of good advice but
everyone seems to have a different way of seeing things and living with
their dog (which, I guess, is normal). So I was more mixed up than anything
else. I really feel great with your method and the most important thing
to me is that now I know that if I need help I can count on good listening
and good answers. I'M not alone in this anymore and I can count on someone
who knows what he's talking about...
Thanks a million times - Johanne D.
Richard,
thank you for your follow-up visit yesterday. It was very helpful and
very much appreciated. Robert and I are very impressed with the time
you have put in so far in helping us, with your patience in answering
my (numerous !!!) questions and with you taking time to come back to
our home to do a follow-up.
Richard when you came to our home the first time, you stayed 6 hours
!!! You never made us feel we had to hurry or that our time was up.
Yesterday, you stayed 4 hours !!! Your visit yesterday was timely and
helped us further understand our dog's behaviour. We feel we can build
on what we have learned so far and that we have moved further ahead.
The money we have invested is paying back big times.
It might seem like a lot of money at the beginning, but it is worth
it. We don't know of any other dog training organization who would provide
this type of service and a written guarantee for the life of
the dog. We have someone we can call if we are unsure or have
questions. Actually, we have two trainers... I have spoken to both Dianne
and Richard on several occasions and it has always been very helpful.
.. It is like having personal dog trainers.
When we adopted Balzac from the SPCA Outaouais at the end of October,
2008, we started looking to find a trainer. We called several people,
including Bark Busters and to be honest, we didn't know anything about
Bark Busters. What impressed us is how quickly Dianne returned our call...
and that was the beginning. While we have had dogs throughout our lives,
we are only now starting to understand how dogs behave, what dogs need,
and how we need to behave to have a healthy human-dog relationship...You
can perhaps fool some of the people some of the time but you can never
fool a dog. If you can't lead, your dog will.
We have explained to people what Bark Busters is all about and have
not hesitated to recommend your services to several people already.
We would welcome the opportunity, if needed, to speak directly to those
who are thinking of using your services to share our experience. Thank
you Dianne, thank you Richard.
- Suzanne and Robert L.
Bonjour
Dianne & Richard- Things are going along very well! We are very
happy with the results and more with the tools to handle what adventures
Maddoxx arrives with. This type of training allows you to be calm and
assertive because you aren't waiting for next weeks lesson to learn
how to handle this new problem. The basics flow into everything. So
now with a new issue we can figure out how to react! Maddoxx is responding
well to the BAH's and his new lifestyle! It is very nice to be able
to recognise that he is calmer and more relaxed becuase he doesn't have
to be the leader. - Jon W.
Hi
Dianne - I'm delighted to tell you that my little mini dachshund Carrie
is doing wonderfully since we met last Spring. She even stays home all
day without any problems! She used to have to remain in her cage but
now can roam free during the day. She doesn't even rush to the door
when I leave in the morning, so there are no more separation anxiety
issues, which is a huge relief for me. She is the most delightful companion
and responds to my authority. Now it's obedience, exercise and affection
in that order! - Thank you for your wonderful support and encouragement
when at a time I thought I would have to give up my little bundle of
joy....
- Kind regards, Andrea W.
Good
morning Dianne,
I am very pleased with your services. Richard stayed with us for 6 hours
!!!! on Sunday. We never felt we needed to hurry or that our time was
up 3 hours ago !!! a big thank you to Richard.
Yes, I am seeing changes already in Balzac. It started Sunday evening
in fact. I can now put him in his crate at night and in the morning
when I leave for work... I make two BAH's and that's it ... he is quiet.
Before, at night I would put Balzac in his crate, and then Robert and
I would walk Matisse... Balzac would bark, whine etc... but not anymore.
I can go up and down the stairs and he doesn't jump on us....
Like I mentioned yesterday, when I walked him yesterday after work I
was tired and agitated... so he was too..This morning...when I walked
him, it was great. He heard a man start his car from a distance....
he heard and saw the garage door open and saw the man in his garage...
he looked, I gave him a BAH and he went about his business... no barking,
no growling, no pulling on the leash.... he was calm, I was calm, it
was very pleasant.
I can really see a difference in his behaviour. Tonight, we will practice
the door bell and the settle.
Thank you... I am starting to "get it" and see that it is
really a way of being with Balzac... a way of being that makes a big
difference on Balzac's behaviour.
- Suzanne L.
Tia
is doing fantastic! :) There was a definite change in her after Richard
came and left and since then she's been doing very well...She has stopped
barking when we put her in her crate; she still has her reserves about
it but at least she settles faster. She also listens better when we
say a command! ...She also automatically waits for us when going up
or down stairs; a couple times she's gotten a step or two ahead of me
(I hadn't even gotten to the stairs yet) but she quickly realizes I'm
not following her, nor am I even at the stairs, so she turns around,
walks behind me and then lets me go up first! :)...I'm VERY pleased
with my results and would recommend BarkBusters to everyone! -
Jocelyn J.
Hi
Richard - We saw a dramatic change in Ananke's behavior in the last
month. We stuck to the Bark Busters techniques this time and we are
very consistent. Most of the time we only have to use the BAH. Some
things are still a work in progress but we have seen an improvement
in everything. We are much calmer and she seems more relaxed. We don't
have to entertain her every minute of the day, she will play alone or
chill on her dog bed. We are enjoying our walks...and I even started
to take small walks with just a regular leash and collar. We take her
to the dog park mutiple times a week were she burnes that extra energy
and gets to socialyze with dogs and people and she is also learning
flyball. She is a wonderfull smart dog and she is now 8 month's old...
Thank you again for all your help and encouragement. :-)
- Debra and Alain S.
We
would like to thank the Bark Busters’ trainers for their help
with our dog. When our dog started nipping at our 9 month old baby,
we knew we needed help. We were impressed with Bark Buster’s initial
training session. It was informative and the methods were easy to follow.
After only 3 hours, we saw a dramatic change in our dog’s behavior.
We continue to work with our dog to maintain these good behavios and
the trainers have been a great resource. They have followed up with
us on many occasions since then and have always been available when
we had questions about our dog’s behaviour. Overall we are very
pleased with his progress and he now seems to be a much happier dog
than before the training began. Thank you Dianne and Richard. -
The Whiteheads
Excellent.
Thanks to both you and Richard for your help. It's quite impressive
how quickly the techniques are working. :) - Kim L.
Overall,
the training was excellent. We noticed a difference in Finnegan within
one day and for the week before our holiday. He is responding very well...We
believe your work with us was very professional, intense and results
oriented. We have already been raving about your work. The theory behind
behaviour about the pack appears to be the root of our problem.
- Carol & Craig
The
Next Day:
Hi Dianne - The dogs are vary calm now. Thanks to you and Richard. Thanks
a lot!
One week later:
Big changes with the dogs. When someone rings the doorbell, the dogs
bark once and they do not go the door. I love it!
- Helene
I
called Bark Busters from an ad I saw in Yellow Pages. I was at my wits
end with 2x4 year old dogs that barked constantly at everything and
everyone and just totally out of control. If I got on telephone they
would head out to back yard and bark knowing I would drop everything
and come and call them! One of my dogs saw herself as Alpha and I was
part of her pack. If I had guests over they would be all over them and
try to steal food. With one session, Richard had both dogs under control
(as well as myself) to the point where it was so quiet in the house
I was not sure if they still lived here! I cannot get over the change
in their personalities with one session. I even called Bark Busters
the next day which was a Saturday as I was concerned at how quiet they
both were. After getting reassurance I was on the right track I persevered
and am on my way to having two very quiet, respectful dogs!
Warning: Do not try Bark Busters unless you are looking for a quiet,
well behaved dog! Thank you Bark Busters! - Vicki M.
Hi
Diane - I am very pleased with Bark Busters, Whisper has changed a great
deal. I can now take her off her leash at the park and play frisbee
with her with other dogs around and she just stares at them but wants
you to continue throwing the frisbee for her. I have seen a really big
diffence in walking Whisper as well.... I just walk her with the training
collar and her leash even if people come by or other dogs she just ignores
them. Even the barking at people who are just sitting at their residence
she now just walks right past them without barking...She waits at the
bottom of the stairs until I tell her its okay to come up or if she
happens to be upstairs I can go down the stairs and she stays put until
I tell her its okay. I am really happy with her change for the better.
- Roberta M.
Paul
and I are very happy with Bark Busters and see quite a difference in
Prince. We learned QUITE a lot. I was more stuck in giving the dog human
qualities, as opposed to my husband, Paul, who readily understood the
alpha role. I was more stressed about hurting Prince's 'feelings' -
so it took me a little longer to wrap my head around the pecking order
concept. I've learned about pack rules, and how these rules help make
Prince a less anxious dog. I've learned so much about leadership, and
how to clearly communicate with Prince. I've also learned how important
consistency is (yes, he has started testing how serious we are). :-)
We see quite a few changes. He responds readily to the BAH, and is very
'happy' (ie. tail wagging) when we invite him with us. He still seems
'sad' when we leave, but we are consistent with putting him in his crate
when we leave, and we are ignoring him when we return. He is slowly
beginning to go into his crate with little complaint, and he is less
hyper when we return. The biggest change is when we take Prince for
a walk. - a 'J' forms in the lead, and he consistently walks a little
behind...We are thrilled with the results and thank you so much for
taking the time and answering our questions. Introducing him to things
like bones and foraging cubes has made a difference in his life as well.
He is completely oblivious to us when he has a bone. And yes, it is
simpler communicating in dog language. - Leslie C.
Hi
Richard and Dianne - The dogs are giving us more space at the front
door... it is quieter when people come up the steps. The back door is
where the true battle took place between Piper and I... In the past
couple of days, she's kept her distance and seems to actually enjoy
sitting outside.
Tonight, the dogs and I went for a walk. I haven't walked them by myself
in over two years. I was either pregnant or pushing a stroller and they
were too much to handle. Both would pull and bark and Piper would be
especially agitated with men. There were a number of men walking their
dogs this evening. I warned them with bah as we would get close. Piper
looked my way each time and kept walking straight! There was one dog
that was barking and pulling towards us and Milo and Piper were starting
to get riled up. Then I did bah and pulled them towards me without having
to do it hard. They stopped in their tracks without much fuss. The guy
gave me a smile and looked impressed. I was kind of embarrased because
I said bah but then told him what it was for and mentioned Barkbusters.
He said "huh, really?".
I've had dogs most of my life. It's scary how little we know about them
and how our behaviour has completely different meanings to them. Now
I see how we were giving the dogs mixed messages. I can see why Piper
would be thinking "you're an idiot..so I need to protect you".
... I do feel that I'm more in control of the situation. I'm starting
to feel less stressed out and hopefully this will have an impact on
Piper... - Kathleen N.
J’aimerais
remercier Bark Busters pour l’aide apportée à Méa,
notre chien Yorkshire.
Bark Busters a grandement simplifié notre vie. Grâce à
ses conseils, le comportement de notre petite Méa est maintenant
calme et serein. Elle est la joie et la fierté de notre petite
famille.- Isabelle Richard

Thank you Bark Busters for helping our Yorkshire Terrier Mea. Mea suffered
from severe separation anxiety. As soon as we left the house she would
begin barking and crying, this would last for the duration of our absence.
Then on our arrival she would constantly jump on us. As unbelievable
as it seems, from the day Bark Busters came to our home, for a 3 hour
session Mea has changed. She can now spend time in her crate, which
she now considers her special place and is no longer stressed or anxious.
We were skeptical, but desperate, Bark Busters has immensely simplified
our lives. By following what we have learned Mea's behaviour is now
calm and relaxed and is the joy of our family. .- Isabelle Richard
Hi
Dianne, hi Richard - Things are excellent, Nessie is like a different
dog, our relationship and trust is building and I'm really enjoying
her company... walking her is a breeze, a pleasure, a fun experience!
no pulling, no trying to yank me in every direction, she walks next
to me with her head high and her tail wagging - when I go into a store
to pick up something quick, I tie her outside and she doesn't bark,
she just sits and waits for me - when I leave her at the house alone,
she is in her crate
- she no longer sleeps on the bed with me, she sleeps next to the bed,
with her head under the bed, and doesn't cause any messes or problems
when
I'm asleep. - she knows to sit when I put her collar, leash on - I don't
even have to
tell her - she knows not to go out of doors or up and down stairs before
me, I
don't even have to BAA at her... Overall, the Barkbusters method is
working beautifully, and Nessie and I have a great relationship thanks
to it...Thanks, and we totally are doing great. - Roxanne
Richard
– thank you so much for the great training you gave our family.
Although we are at the “challenging the new rules” stage
of the program, we have seen a huge improvement in Maggie (Great-Dane)
and Sofy (Saint-Bernard). No more roaming the kitchen or trying to steal
food left out on the counters. We also enjoy walking them (not them
walking us), the halter is great. Sleeping in our own bed without having
to move from room to room at night is wonderful. Maggie no longer sleeps
with us; she sleeps in her own bed now. We are grateful for the on-going
support after the training. Both you and Dianne coming with us to Maggie’s
vet appointment was really appreciated. We recommend this training to
every dog owner. If we would have known that this type of service existed,
we would have contacted Bark Busters four years ago. Again thank you!

Hello
Dianne and Richard - If we thought Murphy was good in the house before,
he is excellent now!... Murphy no longer woofs, growls or bothers with
the door. He doesn't move now when there are people in the hallway of
the building or coming in and out of the building door. Outside, I see
a huge change in his behaviour. Our walks are a lot easier now and I
can walk anytime of the day and on the sidewalk, which is nice!
On the whole, Murphy's behaviour is exponentially better. I am thoroughly
impressed with Bark Busters and the positive changes I have seen so
far in Murphy, I really believe this way works ...I really want to thank
Richard and you and Bark Busters for giving me back some hope for Murphy.

For
Christmas this year I got the best gift ever from my husband; a contract
with Bark Busters to train the dog (and me….) I could not believe
my eyes, one visit, and I was on my way to having the dog I always wanted.
By the time Bark Busters left my house, Phoenix our 2 year old Sheppard/Husky
was now calm, relaxed and responding to my commands. Within a few days
I was master of the front door. Doorbell ringing?? Not a problem; no
longer was my dog running to the door, barking and jumping on people.
My dog doesn’t take me for a walk anymore, I take him.
Bark Busters thank you, you are AMAZING! - Diane L.
I
had read many books and gone to basic dog training before contacting
Bark Busters, but my 9-month-old Red Bone Coon Hound mix (named Honey)
continued to exhibit dominant behaviour on leash (i.e. barking, growling,
lunging) toward other humans and dogs.
Out of a fear that my dog might bite someone eventually, I called Bark
Busters. They gave me a presentation on the psychology/needs of dogs,
and showed me the communication techniques necessary for my dog to respect
me as THE leader. We practiced the techniques ...and they supplied me
with a book, notes, practical exercises, and an improved dog collar
... I had to learn to become a passive dominant leader in order for
Honey to stop taking the lead and to start respecting me as THE leader.
Honey responded immediately to the BAH sound and became more relaxed
in the home - I saw a marked difference. I started using BAH on recall
and she responded very well off leash. The outdoor walks “on leash”
were more of a problem... but Bark Busters people were always available
for ongoing guidance and advice….and always responded promptly.
On one occasion, they returned to my home with their own dogs to give
me an opportunity to practice walking by other dogs and correcting Honey.
I now feel in charge and comfortable walking outside with my dog. She
is giving up her anxiety/dominance toward others. I’m developing
a new way of viewing, communicating, and interacting with my dog…..and
of viewing myself (after all, I am THE leader!). I am very appreciative
of the ongoing guidance and assistance provided by Bark Busters.

Dearest
Dianne and Richard - Alex and I cannot thank you enough for your help
and wisdom. We'd love to share our story with others who might be considering
calling Bark Busters.
Our story:
When we adopted Lola, who is a one-year-old golden retriever, we knew
we'd have our fair share of challenges as she had been neglected her
entire short life. She used to sleep in a shed during the night and
was tied to a tree during the day. She was completely unsocialized!
Having had dogs all our lives however, we felt we were up to the challenge.
Buddy, our easy going seven-year-old golden retriever was going to be
her role model.
Well, that never happened. Our world was turned upside down the moment
Lola stepped into our house. Lola attacked Buddy the moment she met
him.... We had to keep the dogs in separate rooms all the time.
In addition to her unacceptable behavior towards Buddy, Lola displayed
dominance towards all the members of the family and this seemed to get
worse as each day went by... The harmony of our household had completely
vanished! It was all just a big mess! ...and then we called Bark Busters...
By the time Bark Busters came to the rescue, Lola had been with us for
approximately ten days...ten long, long days...
Three hours into our session however, Lola was a new dog. I'd have to
say that we saw an 80% improvement in her behavior! It was a miracle
to us.
We've had Lola now for almost four weeks and she is such a joy. Our
lives literally went back to normal the morning after our session with
Bark Busters. It's hard to believe, but it's true. The rest of the work
is now up to us as we continue to implement the tools and knowledge
we now have. There is much light at the end of the tunnel! :-)
Enjoy the experience! It's worth it!

Bon
jour Mme Sarasin,

Good day Mrs. Sarasin;
I would like to thank you for your patience.
I appreciate your involvement with animals and want to encourage you
with your work.
Although I have had little experience with your work the experience
I did have allowed me to examine Sika without needing to calm her. I
understand that your work is to teach owners how to be seen as the alpha
in their pack, I also understand that there is strong collaboration
between your customers and your organization.
I encourage you to continue your work and wish you lots of success.

We have
noticed an improvement in Hazel's behavior. She is less hyper than she
used to be. We've already recommended Bark Busters to friends and family.
While there was no way we were going to give Hazel up, it has been a quality
of life improvement.

I really
enjoyed the learning session that I spent with you. It was clearly explained,
very informative and helpful. It am very pleased with all the information
and the tips that you gave me to understand and communicate with my 2
dogs. It was so much what I was looking for. It is so amazing that within
such a short period of time behaviours of the dogs have changed and made
a big difference in our companionship. Taking over the leadership is so
easy and so enjoyable . The 2 dogs and I are now spending a lot more quality
time together. Thanks to you and to Bark Busters. - Roger N.
Our
dog Vixen is actually much more submissive! she listens with a single
Bah! We feel very comfortable and in control when people come to visit
us now. She is also friendlier with our other dog Onyx. Thank you and
Bark Busters for your much needed help!

Hi Dianne
- Just to let you know that everything is going great. Rudy is sleeping
just fine in his cave and we have no barking trouble with him. Thanks
for everything. He is just the sweetest. - Lisa
...
Memphis responded really quickly to the changes that Richard showed us...
The barking is controlled ... Mealtimes are pleasant and Memphis is comfortable
spending
time in her crate etc... Walks are good, on leash and off leash behaviour
is attentive and responsive. The pack hierarchy is clear. It is really
really really nice to have her back as I remember her - and we are able
to enjoy each other more and more... I'm thrilled with the change and
have recommended your service to anyone who'll listen to me! Thanks again.
Jessica J.
We have
two very active border collies, one 2-1/2 and one 7. We called Bark Busters
to deal with a few problems. We were very glad to see Richard come to
our door. When we answered the door both dogs ran to the door and jumped
up and licked Richard. We then got down to work. One of the few problems
was excessive barking. That is now under control. The dogs come when called.
Unfortunately, our younger dog got sick so we had to back off the walking
for a while, but are now ready to start walking them again. The one thing
we are really impressed with is that Richard and Dianne will come back
if we need to deal with the problem again. We would like to thank Richard
for his help. - Don & Marion C.
Dianne
and Richard - I just wanted to say "Thank-you". Your help, expertise,
and compassion helped my wife and I immeasurably.
After bringing our newborn home, one of our dogs was constantly stressed
and barking whenever we were handling the baby and we feared that we would
have to make a difficult decision. Although, choosing between our baby
and our dog was no decision at all, as dog lovers, we knew we had to at
least seek professional help.
You two delivered and more. I couldn't believe the change that our dogs
went through in a very, very short time. Not only that, you didn't just
fix the problem, but your fixed our relationship with our dogs. Now we
have a happy (and quiet) family unit. We are over the moon!
We also appreciate the support after your visit as well. It was very comforting
to hear from you the next day and your follow-up emails.
Both our dogs were from the shelter and fully grown. We had convinced
ourselves that they came with baggage and they had habits that we simply
couldn't break. We couldn't have been more wrong! You taught us how to
live with our dogs and gave us the confidence to adopt from the shelter
again when the time comes. Our only regret is that we wish we had known
of
your services 4 years ago!
I have and would again heartily recommend your expertise to anyone who
wishes to get a dog.
Again, Thank-you. You two are life-savers! - Hasan, Allison, and Baby
Daniel.
...We are still in the early stages but overall Jenna is adapting very
well to our new expectations of her ...My husband and I are definitely
pleased with the results.
Overall its been a really good experience and one I would recommend to
others. The process is certainly thorough which in itself promotes the
confidence that you have taken the time to properly assess the individual
situation. Dianne and Richard
have been excellent and they certainly mean what they say when they tell
you that they are available to help when you through the day to day...
Thanks very much!! - Karen C.
We decided to bring
Home a dog,
Our new addition to the family.
Yet things weren’t what we planned.
Oh no! A mess on floor,
Uncontrollable barking and more!
Got onto the Internet and
On to the phone, in
No time at all
New hope was born
And at the door 2 people
Came in
And talked about “talking dog”, concerns,
Love and all.
Lots of hands on skills, patience, and understanding
Brought us
All together for the first time ever!
Review your skills, “do your homework,
Know you’re the leader and most of all
Be consistent,
Use your head not your hand.
So much had changed in so little
Time. We
Enjoy our walks and are
Relaxed and calm. Thanks
to Bark Busters there’s no
SPCA for our dog, She’s part of the family!

Charlie
is a 5 year old Corgi, who barked at people walking by the house and charged
folks coming into the house. In addition he jumped at the vacuum cleaner
and watering hose.
Now Charlie is a pleasure to have around. Answering the door is a treat
and I enjoy vacuuming as he just sits there and watches. The neighbors
are thrilled as the backyard is very quiet. I would never have believed
that his behaviour could be turned around so quickly. Bark Busters is
the BEST! Thanks so much. - Brenda S
Thanks
Dianne!
They all behaved wonderfully all weekend long... Thanks so much for your
help!

Richard
- Thank-you for the great job you did in training me and Veera. Veera
stayed at the boarder's again this week and, when I went to pick up Veera,
the people commented at the huge change they saw in her. When they let
the dogs play in the yard and they called the dogs to come, Veera was
the first to come and be at the door. That was not the case the week before
- she was very stubborn and they had to use lots of coaxing. They, too,
were very impressed at the change - and she was not aggressive with any
of the dogs this time.
Again, a big thank-you for turning things around for us! - Sharon

Hi Richard
- Things have GREATLY improved... we have been taking Parker down to the
lake in the evening to run free and he stays quite close; mega improvement!
We are careful not to put him in a position to ignore us but wait until
he comes back to check on us to collar him to come back to the house.
Have stopped some annoying digging with our BAH’s which is neat.
All to say THANK YOU for helping us keep our puppy!!!
PS: We were at my daughter’s the other day with
her dogs and when I BAH’d at Parker they all paid attention! WOW,
way too cool! - Terry & Doug M.
Our
Bark Busters experience was fantastic! I can't believe how much my dog's
behaviour has improved in such a short time. I've already told everyone
I know about it. -
Tracy P.
Hi Dianne
& Richard - I am pleased with the initial results of the training
session. Our evening walk was wonderful, the new ‘Champ Walk Master’
halter worked like a charm, Ziggy was right where I wanted him, right
at my left side for the whole walk… marvelous! The change in Ziggy
is amazing; he seems quite happy to have given up the dominant role, by
the way the postman arrived about an hour after you left, Ziggy didn’t
move from his pillow, I couldn’t believe it!!!
I’ll let you know how the training is going as time goes on, so
far so good…
Thank you.
Murray L.
...Arthur
is doing well ,no more boards up to block him out.,comes when I call him
,much happier dog. Is very good when people come ...Thanks for your help
- Betty J.
The
change in Bella is amazing. She is much more relaxed and friendly. The
cats in the house can now play with their toys and she does not bother
them. The stress level in the house has gone WAY down now that everyone
gets along better. Everyone is just so much happier than before training.
This kind of training works great in any situation.
