Dog Name: Hershel
Dog Age: 4 Mos.
Dog Breed: Fox Hound/Blue Heeler/Border Collie
Behaviour issues:
Puppy issues, obedience, excessive barking at windows/front door; pulling on leash, poor recall, can be timid outside.
Sonia was a first time dog owner who was used to living with cats. Like most puppies, Hershel did not walk well on a leash and he was unpredictable around other dogs, sometimes timid sometimes reactive. When Hershel started defiantly barking at passers-by and being first to the front door, Sonia realized she had better get some help and nip the problems in the bud before they got worse.
Outcome Descriptions:
With the proper technique, Sonia was soon finding it easier to walk Hersh on leash and his recall was getting better. Socializing Hershel with other dogs in a structured setting helped Sonia gain confidence and meeting other dogs became less of a challenge. Hershel’s barking in the house got better once Sonia got used to correcting him but she could still be a little more firm with Hershel. Sonia is definitely a very loving Alpha, as opposed to an aloof Alpha, and really emphasizes praise for good behaviour.
Client Comment / Review:
I found my time with Ron really helpful. He listened carefully to me and adjusted his techniques to fit my needs and attitudes about how I wanted to relate to my dog. He explained everything clearly and made practice sessions fun as well as effective. Hershel and I both benefited greatly from our training, and really appreciated his warm open approach.
