Brody

Dog Name:  Brody

Dog Age:  2 Yrs. 6 Mos.

Dog Breed:  Papillon

Behaviour issues:

Dominance aggression, jumping up, excessive barking, pulling on the leash and not coming when called

Brody expressed aggression towards his owner through possessiveness over objects such as tissues. He would also bark aggressively at anyone coming to the front door and during walks with bicycles, runners, certain dogs passing by as well as in the car. Brody constantly demanded attention and would ignore his owners when distracted.

Outcome Descriptions:

After the first lesson, we established the owners as the leaders of the house through recognizing Brody’s challenges and teaching him overall respect. The owners were then able to teach Brody not to steal tissues and prevent him from charging and barking at the door. This also eliminated the issue of jumping up, since Brody learned he didn’t need to assess visitors anymore. He is now able to relax both at home and on walks with the odd reminder needed.

Client Comment / Review:

I am writing this letter to share my gratitude with Bark Busters and with their awesome trainers, Krystal and Brad Harper, who helped me gain the confidence and the leadership skills I lacked to share with my dog Brody and to help make him a better pet.

Brody is a spirited little fellow who is so cute and honestly sometimes hard to resist. I had a few challenges with him in puppy training, like barking at other dogs on walks, in the car and at home, dropping things that did not belong to him, and just an overall confusion sometimes of who was in control in our family. Krystal and Brad helped show us the way, by taking us on a journey to discover more about what makes each other tick, between humans and dogs. With their patience and unique style, they really understood us as a family and worked with our needs each time they came to visit, until we all understood and began to demonstrate real improvement. They never once made me feel like a failure for not training properly and guided us to do the right things, never giving up on us along the way. It was truly a wonderful journey to go on with them, especially seeing the positive results after each session between Brody and I. I was amazed how some of the poor behaviour stopped instantly with them, and how eventually others stopped too with my newly learned leadership skills.

Today Brody is a grown up dog, and I too have grown for the better, we enjoy our time with him every moment and he is so well behaved on walks and with other dogs now, it is a joy to take him with us everywhere!

Not only am I grateful for Krystal, Brad and Bark Busters, I have found 2 nice friends along the way, Brody loves them too!

Thank  you so much!!
