Peter Z.

Trainer(s): Krystal Harper

Dog Name:  Zephyr

Dog Age:  10 mos.

Dog Breed:  German Shepherd

Behaviour issues:

Severe fear aggression towards people and dogs, excessive barking, charging the front door, jumping up, pulling on leash

Zephyr was displaying severe aggression towards all strangers that entered the house. Due to this issue he was kept in his crate for safety when anyone was visiting. Walking Zephyr was extremely stressful as he wanted to lunge and attack all strangers/dogs/bicycles in view. As a result, his walks were limited to the late hours of the evening/early morning and kept very short.

Outcome Descriptions:

Zephyr has an extremely nervous and fearful temperament. He was taken from his litter early and never given a chance to learn canine behaviour from his mother. In the first session we reviewed Zephyr’s needs, showed his owner how to communicate with him and demonstrate strong, consistent pack leadership which helped him relax. After one week, there was notable improvement with Zephyr appearing much calmer. In the following sessions we were able to graduate to entering the house, creating a positive association with mild aggression shown. Work also continues outdoors but overall great progress is being made.

Client Comment / Review:

We have had an amazing experience with Krystal and Brad. They are very compassionate about their job and have been extremely patient in the training process. Always open to questions or concerns, they are simply pleasant people to be with! We look forward to continue working with them to complete the training program for our dog (who has made very obvious strides thus far)!
