Dog Name: Kati & Shep
Dog Age: 1 yr. 6 mos.
Dog Breed: Border Collies
Behaviour issues:
Excessive barking, jumping up, pulling on lead, obsessive compulsive behaviours & growling (Katie) and extreme fear of skateboards, loud noises, water (Shep). Not coming when called (big problem as they have coyotes that visit the backyard)
Both dogs pulled on their leashes, making walking them impossible. Shep would pull and lunge around skateboards and loud noises. Katie would become obsessed with cracks in the sidewalk, making walking her a chore. She was also nervous and would jump on people outside without warning. Both dogs would not come when called in the yard. As there are resident coyotes in the area that would come to the yard the owners felt their dogs were in danger but could not get them back.
Outcome Descriptions:
Both dogs learned come when called immediately (even with the coyotes present) and with some additional work and walking techniques walking is now possible. Katie can now ignore cracks in the side walk and Shep is more relaxed. As the family demonstrates their ability to be good pack leaders the dogs don’t feel nervous anymore.
Client Comment / Review:
We would like to thank you for all the help you've given us with Kati & Shep. The dogs now come when called and have calmed down quite a bit. We've learned so much from you and Bark Busters and we've recommended you to friends and even strangers.
