The Millers

Trainer(s): Leah Manson & David Lambert

Dog Name:  Charlie

Dog Age:  3 Yrs.

Dog Breed:  Wheaton Terrier (Soft Coated)

Behaviour issues:

People aggression, not coming when called (recall)

Charlie is a wonderful dog when nobody else is around, however we also like to entertain and so we can’t with Charlie around since he just as soon attack you than let you pat him – he’s not friendly to anyone except us, and so we are always fearful of what might happen if we can’t be watching him all the time, it’s like waiting for the fuse to go bang!

Outcome Descriptions:

Upon arrival I asked to meet Charlie in a safe secure way, and when Charlie first caught sight of me he went into the red zone and was aggressive to me. I spoke with all members of the family to instruct them on how to express their dominance with Charlie and manage his aggression, since I couldn’t be in the same room as Charlie I guided and coached the Millers on how to correct and the timing. By the third hour I could spend time with in full view of Charlie and he was looking to the Millers for direction. This is a big major step in his rehabilitation – spending time with strangers just being around.

Client Comment / Review:

We were so embarrassed of Charlie, constantly making excuses for his behaviour, and quite frankly I didn’t think there was anything that would work and felt that he had no other options but to put him down. I saw the change in Charlie in three hours, I was so thrilled with his progress I was mad at myself for not having called in professional help a long time ago, I didn’t realize that we and him were capable of change, now he is every bit a member of our family and can be enjoyed now by all who come and visit. Thanks David! We couldn’t have done it without you, believe us, we tried!
