Dog Name: Akira
Dog Age: 2 Yrs.
Dog Breed: Shih Tzu
Behaviour issues:
Severe separation anxiety, Toilets everywhere in home, Excessive barking
Situation:
Akira was adopted about 1 ½ months ago and the owners recently moved to a condo. All this change caused a bit of upset for Akira, and although the change was all for the better, there was a lot of stress involved.
Unknown to the new owners, Mika also had bad separation anxiety to the point where she would pee and poo all over the home, especially the beds and couches. Everyday day, there was a disgusting mess when the owners returned.
Outcome Descriptions:
Our lessons and discussions focused on the separation anxiety and barking. By creating a safe haven for Mika, along with a few house rules, she was able to feel much better at home alone.
The toileting on the beds and furniture has stopped and the barking and whining is now down to a few seconds of whimpering which is easily managed.
There was talk of giving Akira up again, however that is no longer a consideration. She found her happy home.
Client Comment / Review:
We were extremely frustrated with Akira’s behaviour and we were nearly at the end of our rope. Rob’s training helped us manage the problem easily and opened our eyes to the issues.
I wish I had the presence of mind to call earlier as this program has highly benefited our relationship with Akira.
