Behaviour issues:
Separation anxiety, jumping up
Situation:
Rex had severe separation anxiety. He would scratch at the doors and urinate and defecate even if left alone for a few minutes. This was a major issue as he was so stressed out everytime they left. The owners were tired of cleaning up after him daily.
Outcome Descriptions:
After a few months of very hard work, Rex can now relax in his kennel. It was a major struggle to get him to like his kennel but now he goes in there on his own, sleeps there all night and doesn’t stress when left alone. His demeanor has relaxed significantly and he stopped following and worrying. Work continues, but progress has been significant.
Client Comment / Review:
As Janna mentioned, Rex had major separation anxiety. He is 4 years old and never been kennelled, we knew it would be tough but not as tough as it was. He would cry and whine throughout the entire night then sleep during the day. The first time trying to get him into his kennel took over an hour but now he finally feels safe and calm in there. Rex has calmed down a significant amount and he is so much more enjoyable to be around. There still are a couple things to be worked on but the major issue is now settled.
