Dog Name: Lola
Dog Age: 3 Yrs.
Dog Breed: Shar-Pei – Labrador Retriever Mix
Behaviour issues:
Aggression towards owners and their infant, excessive barking, front door boundary issues
Lola was acting aggressively towards her owners and their one year old daughter. She was also very hard to handle when visitors came into the house, running up to them and jumping on them. She was also barking a lot every time she heard the buzzer when people came over, as well as barking and “patrolling the den” from the balcony, reacting often when people or dogs walked by.
Outcome Descriptions:
Lola was much calmer after only our first session. She no longer felt that it was her responsibility to “warn of incoming enemies” from out on the balcony. We changed a few things around regarding her sleeping area (she felt the bedroom was “hers’), and established Colin and Elizabeth as the pack leaders. Lola is no longer biting or warning her owners.
Client Comment / Review:
Our dog, Lola, was very dominant and had owner aggression. We have a one year old daughter and were very worried about having them in the same room because Lola has “nipped” us in the past.
Derek showed us how to correct Lola’s dominant behaviour and we have seen huge change in the dog.
Derek has been great at responding to our questions since he started working with us and is always available for support
