Jazz

Dog Name:  Jazz

Dog Age:  5 Yrs.

Dog Breed:  Parson Russell Terrier

Behaviour issues:

Separation anxiety, barking, charging the front door, dog & people aggression, toileting in the house

Jazz had severe separation anxiety to the point where he would bend the bars of his crate, injuring himself to get to his owners. He was fearful of visitors entering the house and had bitten the mailman and his owners when trying to hold him back. He would also toilet in the house if left alone.

Outcome Descriptions:

In the first session the owners were able to have success in teaching Jazz not to charge, bark or show aggression at the door while we entered. A safe place was also made for Jazz where he could relax and not worry about protecting the territory. Over time, Jazz’s separation anxiety was resolved through his owners showing consistent leadership. Walking is also much more enjoyable for the owners with being able to keep Jazz’s focus & no further incidents of lunging.

Client Comment / Review:

Before we contacted Brad & Krystal, we were at our wits end. We adopted our dog Jazz who had sadly been abused in the past. Since living with us he had bit the mailman as well as bitten all members of our family. Jazz also had severe separation anxiety from us and didn't want to be left alone. We were very upset and didn't want to return him to the humane society because we loved him very much! That’s when my mother-in-law suggested we look into Bark Busters to see if they can help. I spoke to Krystal on the phone for at least 1 hour, and she was very helpful and understanding. She informed they would come over ASAP and that made me feel very relieved. Our first visit was challenging but Jazz did show progress. We also realized this was a process for us as his owners with showing strong leadership and being consistent- that is the key especially for our Parsons Russell Terrier, Jazz who is full of energy. Jazz’s issues have greatly improved. He no longer follows us through the house plus the biting has stopped. When walking outdoors we also take appropriate safety measures in ensuring he is muzzled for the protection of others. There has been significant improvement, as we can now go by people and other dogs without feeling anxious.

We would recommend Bark Busters to anyone, they do work and they are there for you for the lifetime of your dog which really helps. Jazz has since graduated but there are still times when he tries to test us, like during the planning of our wedding. We then asked Krystal to return and help get us back on track. Both Brad and Krystal are always there and available when you need them! We really connected with Brad & Krystal and became friends in addition to clients. I would recommend them to anyone who is struggling with their dog’s issues and have also recommended them to our friends. Jazz is a much happier dog and it is mostly due to the great work of Bark Busters. We are very pleased with the outcome of having our cute, lovable Jazz back!

Just believe in the system, it really does work! Thank you so much!
