Carrie L

Trainer(s): Monica Simpson
Hunter

Dog Name:  Hunter

Dog Age:  9 Mos.

Dog Breed:  Doberman Pincher

Behaviour issues:

Teenage rebellion.

At 8 months of age Hunter started challenging everyone in the house. He thought he ‘owned’ the front door and any guest that came in. He ‘refused’ to go to his crate or to come when called. Having a dog Hunter’s size jumping on people, mouthing them and pulling his owners off their feet on a walk became a serious issue. Only Carrie’s husband could (barely) manage a walk and Hunter needed much more exercise. At 9 months Hunter was running the house.

Outcome Descriptions:

Two hours into training Hunter was reassessing his place in the pack. He gave up patrolling the door, became much more respectful of guests and started doing what was asked. He can now be walked safely. He still tests the leadership waters but the Life of Dog guarantee will make sure he always knows his place in the pack.

Client Comment / Review:

We have "trained" two Dobermans before Hunter so what could go wrong.  We did puppy classes at a well known Pet Store Chain, and then we did puppy class with the local obedience club.  At 9 months of age I was exhausted and frustrated.  So I called Bark Busters (I figured the training was cheaper than the vet bills if he got hit by a car).  He has been making all his own decisions; you wouldn't let a teen do that.  Luckily, dogs can't buy beer, or drive a car, but they can pull you when they walk, lunge at passers by and bark your ears off.

I didn't get the wrong dog; I didn't have the right training.

Thank you Monica and Bark Busters for showing me a safe, humane way to train my dog and keep my sanity through the teen years.

First time Bark Buster's user and total convert.
