Dog Name: Sadie
Dog Age: 4 Yrs.
Dog Breed: Pit Bull-Boxer mix
Behaviour issues:
Dog aggression, pulling, jumping on visitors, barks at doorbell and postal carrier, lunging at lawn mowers and weed-eaters.
Sadie’s dog aggression had become quite serious in the past 2 years. She constantly pulled on the lead during walks, quickly going into aggressive mode by barking, growling and lunging when encountering another dog. She would bark and charge the front window everyday when the postal carrier arrived. When guests arrived she would claim her space at the front door by hyperactively jumping and barking at guests. Sadie would have to be left inside when the lawn was being cut as she would attack the lawnmower.
Outcome Descriptions:
After the first three hour session, Sadie became much more relaxed. She remained quiet while respecting the “invisible” boundaries at the front door, allowing guests to come in uninterrupted and respected the new rules of greeting people with “manners” by keeping four paws on the floor. The postal carrier even arrived in the middle of our first session. For the first time ever, Sadie completely remained quiet and ignored them as they dropped of the daily mail. We successfully cut the lawn with Sadie in the backyard. Walking and dog aggression while on lead will be addressed in our next session. Work continues, but progress was significant.
Client Comment / Review:
A BIG thank you for all you have taught us. Everything is going really well. My husband cannot get over what a different dog she is. Thank you!!! I have been telling all my friends about your organization. Even they can’t get over how she doesn’t jump when they come into the house. She is doing really good with the stairs, lawn mower, other lawn tools and barking at people walking up the street. That itself is quite the accomplishment in my eyes.
