Angela H.

Trainer(s): Ron Cameron & Elaine Davies

Dog Name:  Scout

Dog Age:  4 Mos.

Dog Breed:  Lab/Collie/Whippet

Behaviour issues:

Puppy issues, obedience, accidents in the house; pulling on leash, poor recall.

Angela and Petr were having some difficulty house training Scout and it was getting to be more work than necessary.  They also found Scout did not want to come to them when called either in the house or outside in their yard.  On walks she really pulled on the leash.

Outcome Descriptions:

Once Angela and Petr got the proper structure in place the house training came around quickly.  Scout is a young dog and has a little of what Angela describes as drama queen tendencies in her so there are times when Angela feels she has to be very persistent to get Scout to come to her, particularly when Scout is distracted by things in her environment, but this is improving.  It took a little extra work with Angela to get her comfortable with walking Scout on leash but after a one to one follow-up where I worked with her on technique, she was feeling more confident that Scout was starting to respect her as much as Petr.  Scout is a smart, responsive, and sometimes sensitive, dog and Angela and Petr can have pretty high expectations of her as she grows into a mature dog and I’m looking forward to helping them attain those expectations.

Client Comment / Review:

After a couple of lessons, and with the techniques Ron taught us, we’ve seen a tremendous improvement in Scout. She still has areas that need work and practice, as she a young (and distractible!) dog. Therefore, we plan to keep in touch with Ron to ensure that Scout makes continued progress. We very much appreciate that BarkBusters offers that ongoing monitoring and help with dog training. It gives us peace of mind to know that we can call on Ron as needed to help us be the best dog owners we can be, and help Scout become a mature and reliable pet.
