Hi Grady - I am so
excited to reply with an update of how we're doing. Having you come
back to work on Daisy and reinforce everything we learned from your
first visit has done wonders the second time around. It's as though
everything seemed to "click" into place in our brains. Although
we understood everything you taught us the first time around it was
a total "aha moment" this time and we're having great success.
We're doing especially well at anticipating their behaviour and reading
their physical queues (posture, ears, tail position, etc).
- Barking in the yard has been so drastically reduced,
the neighbours actually asked where the dogs have been lately!
- Hunter virtually looks at us for permission to approach
the maple tree that he was so obsessed with monitoring for birds and
squirrels last year.
- Hunter and Daisy are coming from wherever they are
in the yard with just a bah. They're getting the message that bah
means stop what you're doing and come pay attention to me.
- We're claiming territory over doorways and our bedroom
with our bah's. This is creating a much safer environment especially
at the top of the stairs where one fall could permanently disable
or kill a dachshund. Additionally, they have stopped whining at our
bedroom door in the evening when they want to go to bed. They know
they'll be invited when we're ready.
- I thought I would feel bad about ignoring them (the
passive dominance) but miraculously, they have quickly figured out
that pawing at our legs and begging or whining is going to get them
nowhere and they quickly give up and go lay down. When we do finally
call them for attention, Daisy especially is much more loving and
affectionate. She even rolls onto her back to have you rub her belly
now!
- There is no more possessive or aggressive behaviour
over treats, toys or special bones. They only get to touch them when
we say so and they accept it when we take them away. We can also touch
them or pet them when they're chewing on these items.
- Our visits to the off leash dog park are improving
every time. Hunter is spending more time running and less time on
his back being sniffed. Daisy is sniffing other dogs, allowing them
to sniff her and ventures away from my feet to explore. She's seldom
pawing at my legs to "rescue" her, too!
We can't thank you enough for not only helping us the
first time, but coming back when we had failed. I guess you can teach
two old dogs (Ian and I!) new tricks!
Thanks again,
Lori C. (on behalf of everyone in our more
peaceful household)
Grady has been great - he is clear and
articulates his points well. I feel confident that he knows what he
is doing and is empowering me to train Zuri with his knowledge. He is
polite and friendly and I have been extremely happy with my Bark Busters
experience thus far! - Jenna D. - July 2010
We are fairly new to the program, and
things are still in the 'fresh' stage. Both Cass and I are enjoying
learning how to change roles from her being the alpha dog, to me. She
is a quick study, and I find if I give her clear instructions, she responds
well... - Lori A. - July 2010
Our dog william is so much more enjoyable
and manageable. Grady is excellant. We have recommended him to our friends
and family already.
- Kathryn M. - June 2010
The service from Grady is both professional
and informative...

Thought Grady did a great initial job...
I think this is a fantastic program...am looking forward to the follow
up. - Meredith B. - April 2010
Bark Busters gave us the tools I needed
to deal with our dog's misbehavior and to put a stop to it. Grady listened
patiently to all our concerns and answered all our questions. We feel
much more confident now and believe we are taking the right steps towards
pack leadership! - Sandra & Chris P - April 2010
..I think Grady has been wonderful and
very patient. I will reccommend him for sure!!!!... - Alison F.

So far I am very pleased with the service
I have received and I have noticed a improvement in Ozzie... - Adrianne

Grady was very helpful and understanding
when we had an issue with our dog. He was quick to respond to all of
my questions and emails and we were very pleased with the service he
provided. - Shari B. - February 2010
Grady has been great! The transformation
of my dogs behaviour in the first day of training is remarkable! I'm
really pleased with the progress so far and everything else Grady has
done to help us! Thanks again Bark Busters!
- Jacqueline and Brian N. - January 2010
We are in the very early stages of training
with our dog but feel with Grady's help and our resolve to follow through
on his suggestions for Lucy, we will achieve a high level of improvement
with her. She has improved greatly in the short time that we have started
with her new training. - Marilyn & Walter L. - December 2009
I am pleased with the progress we have
made with our puppy considering how nervous she is. There is a way to
go yet but we can see improvements all the time.
- Mary L. - December 2009
Very happy with Bark Busters and I would
reccomend this to anyone with Dog behavorial problems. The in home discussions
and presentations are very helpful and even the Dog seems to know a
new direction of behavior is in the near future.Well Done - Don
A. - October 2009
In the past, we try a new behaviour modification
technique and see some improvement followed by a regression to the old
pattern of behaviour. Our Bark Busters trainer help us fine tune our
program so that we saw sustained improvement in our dog's behaviour.
- Susan W.
Grady helped us to understand what our
dog was thinking. We still have lots to learn, but there have been definite
results with barking at the front door.
- Tracy & Brad M.
We are very impressed with Grady and value
his expertise. He was extremely patient with us and we found the training
to be hands-on and pratical. We definitely have and will continue to
recommend Bark Busters to our friends and family. Thanks! - Kris
B.
Great program, finnaly a trainer that
shows us humans how the dogs think.....we saw improvements that evening
when Grady was here...Our neighbourhood has made comments on how the
dogs act inside the house hold when visitors come, they are much better
behaved. - Terri W.
Overall I am extremely pleased with Bark
Busters. In the past we have tried puppy classes and have had a trainer
come out to the house. What I liked about Bark Busters is that Grady
analyzed each dog separate and thoroughly explained why they behave
the way that they do. He then showed us some exercises to practise and
gave us a chance to try them while he was here. I also like that Grady
has followed up several times and has popped in to see how we're coming
along. I know that we still have a lot of work to do with our two dogs
but I am hopeful that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I especially
like that it is for the life of the dog and I am already trying to spread
the word around! - Elaine and Maurice B.
Grady is an excellent
therapist. We can't beleive the difference in Abbey (our Border Collie)
after 3.5 hours with Grady. - Ron M.
Grady is an excellent
instructor and very patient with us and our over confident Dog. The
training aids he supplied are useful and the procedures are effective
and humane. Thank you Shelley & Sheila M.
Hi Grady - We are very pleased so far with the progress
that Simon and Luke have made and we are continuing to work with them.
There have been some amazing results in some areas ...I do find in general
that they both seem to be much calmer and happier, I believe their stress
level has been greatly reduced through our ability to lift some of the
burden off them to always be the protectors...Overall we are very pleased
with the results and we do feel that both dogs have made considerable
improvements and are much happier. We are committed to stick with this
and we know it will be a lifelong commitment and we do remind each other
if one of us eases up a little. We no longer feel we can't go out because
our lives are controlled by the dogs and our relationship with Simon
and Luke is a much happier one. Thanks again for all your help, Bark
Busters has in our opinion certainly lived up to their reputation.
- Rod F.
Hi Grady - I thought I would give you an update on how
things were going. -...There is definitely a new calmness in the house.
Lola has settled down quite a bit...She is also starting to listen more
when she is in the backyard, she is not as wild as she was.
Chico is also coming along... He is quiet when looking out the side
window by the front door. He is a lot calmer and does not grumble very
much any more. Megan is now able to pick him up without him reacting
to her. He has also developed some confidence with Lola. He is not so
intimidated by her. If she gets a little too rough when playing he gives
it right back and she seems to respect that.
The best part is that there have been no fights since you were here!!!
- Sally E.
Hi Grady - Maizie
is immediately focused on me as soon as I put her leash on inside the
house. I’ve used the leash inside the house a few times for general
behaviour training and also when a friend came to the door. It’s
going very well. We passed a dog twice on our walk yesterday and she
didn’t even leave my side. I was absolutely shocked. She knows
as soon as I put her collar on I’m in control. It’s a great
thing. Thanks again - Dan S.
I am sooooooo pleased to have a really positive update
for you!!. First....THANK YOU X 3 for getting the new collar for Cody.
My hands are not in such severe pain and the swelling is not as bad
and not as often. What a relief! Cody is also not pulling any where
near as hard as he was before. It seems to get his attention much more
when I snap it and bah at him! ... The best is when he starts to go
ahead of me. I just start giving a low bah or growl to warn him he is
going too far ahead and he responds right away by backing up or stopping
right by my side again.
I have made a surprising amount of progress with Cody both inside and
out ... I can't wait to tell you all about it !! - Sherry O.
We were very glad to meet you. I think we found Bark
Busters at the right time in Dustys life. We are working with Dusty
as you suggested and everything is going great. My father came for a
visit and couldn't believe the change in Dusty. The neighbours are amazed
that we can be outside and visit without Dusty jumping up at them all
the time. ... We will keep in touch with his progress. Thank You.
- Juanita, Peter & Dusty
Hello Grady; Max has been doing great, we have actually
just moved his crate into the kitchen so he can get used to sleeping
downstairs long before the baby arrives, also then as we start doing
the nursery we can let him poke around in there so he can see what's
going on. I must say he has... We have actually started leaving him
out of his crate alone in the house while we go out for an hour or two.
So far every time we have come back he has just been laying on his bed
and nothing has been destroyed. His excessive barking outside at night
has also calmed down, we turn an outside light on for him in the backyard
at night and he seems to be much more at ease... - Candace D.
Hello Grady - Since your visit the dogs have been much
better to live with. Even my mom has noticed a difference when she comes
to visit... Even going outside of the house has changed.. It is much
easier though when we know what to do....Just yesterday we let Daisy
have free roam for a couple hours and she was calm and it went well...
Thanks - Crystal, Scottie and Daisy
Good Morning Grady - I had to share this with you considering
we were so concerned with Spud. As you know we had 40 people at our
house on Saturday night. Both dogs were amazing! The Bah is working
very well on Sparky and Spud seems to be responding to it too. Spud
was incredible Saturday night, no growling or barking at anyone... I
have to say I am already impressed with how you "Trained"
Sam and myself. Thanks again, I am sure we will be in touch. - Kirsty
E.
Hi Grady: - Just a quick update on the dogs...they are
doing very well. I can’t believe the improvement in their behavior.
Nigel no longer rushes the door, and Pyewacket’s barking has lessened
as well. We are continuing to work with them each day, and we rarely
have to use the throw pouches when the doorbell rings... I am really
impressed... I have given your name to a few people and you may be hearing
from them. Thanks again for making such a difference! - Josta G.
Hi - Zephyr is doing quite well. It seems just the idea
of me being boss and
not him has helped tremendously. The first time Brian was here after
your
visit we had him sitting on the mat playing with a toy for quite a while
before
he started bugging us. Brian was amazed. The other thing that has been
hugely successful has been getting him to come to me. The calling him
and then crouching when he looks at me briefly has worked - he comes
bounding to me, almost knocking me over. I've been able to enjoy Zephyr
more these past few days. He has a great personality and wants to get
along. He and I have a better relationship
without him trying to "rule the roost" all the time. Thanks
- Rita D.
